Location: UK – Flexible / Remote / Hybrid Working



The opportunity:

Group Audit is responsible for performing audits to protect Zurich's operations globally. We are looking for someone who is passionate about data in EMEA to join our network of data people supporting our global Internal Audit organization. You should thrive on solving problems with data, creating value from data, and love to train and coach others to learn great data skills.


Our global Internal Audit mandate is to provide independent and objective assurance to the Zurich Boards of Directors and Audit Committees as well as to the Group CEO and Senior Management. To deliver this mandate, Group Audit works as a one-global-team mindset across the 19 countries where our teams are located.


You will play a key role in implementing our data analytics strategy within Group Internal Audit. You should be experienced in engineering/wrangling data from a host of different systems, have great skills applying visualization techniques to make the messages in the data easy to see, and be either keen to develop or have some amazing data science skills too.


If you love training/coaching people on data and collaborating with other like-minded people too – we could be a perfect fit!


This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.  



Key Responsibilities: 

  • Help our Audit Team understand the art of the possible with data aligned to their mission to protect our global businesses, generating a rich list of ideas to go after
  • Work quickly to tight deadlines, creating value from data that can help uncover unseen issues and delivering actionable insights that count
  • Own your self-development regards data tools and techniques
  • Train and coach auditors to perform data analytics and develop data analytics superpowers for themselves!
  • Be a advocate of various data techniques such as visualization, text analytics, predictive modelling, and process mining



Your skills and experience:

  • BSc/BA in Math, Statistics, Data Management, Econometric, Computer Science, Actuarial or related quantitative field from an accredited college or university
  • Job holder should have 5+ years’ experience in data analytics in the insurance sector
  • Knowledge of Internal Audit is a plus, but we can skill up the right person!
  • Critical thinker, innovator, and problem solver
  • Exhibits highly professional and ethical behavior
  • Good communications skills, with good verbal and written English with ability to explain technical concepts and analytics-driven findings to business stakeholders
  • Good experience with some of the following: Dataiku, Alteryx, SPSS, R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI
  • Location – UK, Spain, Germany or Italy – office, hybrid, or home worker options
