Senior Pricing Analyst

As part of our hybrid working approach, you’ll also have the opportunity to work from home as well as joining our team in Mark Lane, London.

What will you be doing?
Within the Commercial Lines Pricing team, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple Specialties lines of business including but not limited to D&O, Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions and Cyber. This role focuses on our Corporate business meaning that you get to work with on some of the largest and most complex insurance programmes in the market. You will be working on:
- Case Pricing – Carrying out bespoke pricing and performance analysis across Property, Casualty, Energy and Specialties lines of business. Collaborating closely with underwriters to come up with robust competitive prices on some of the most unique offerings in the market.
- Pricing tools – Lead the build of new pricing tools and devise a maintenance plan for our current suite of pricing tools, working across various platforms and working closely with underwriters. Ownership and monitoring of technical price assumptions and market pricing decisions. Work closely with our Group actuarial and underwriting teams to scope, build, develop, document and maintain global pricing tools.
- Portfolio management – Working with underwriters to define, analyse and implement underwriting strategies to improve and grow our portfolios. Lead the delivery of pricing and portfolio management solutions across multiple portfolios, through advanced analytics, data analysis and modelling. Regular monitoring and reporting of key trends to senior stakeholders in the UK and to Group.

- Collaboration – Building strong relationships across the company (underwriting, reserving, finance and claims), providing trusted insights and helping to foster a strong data-driven culture.
- Coaching & mentoring – Support and supervise junior colleagues through coaching of technical and non-technical skills. Provide regular training and support to the actuarial and underwriting communities with a specific focus on best practice.
- Process improvement – Continuously improving and challenging our processes to drive further efficiencies for the team and underwriters.
What are we looking for?
- Educated to degree level
- Nearly/newly qualified actuary
- Experience gained in an actuarial role (ideally commercial lines / London market)
- Excellent knowledge of actuarial professional guidance
- Market, risk and business awareness
- Excellent knowledge of insurance products and industry
- Highly numerate and analytical
- Technical experience – MS Office suite, coding languages (R/Python, VBA, SQL)
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage own and other team members work portfolio
