Location: Manchester. This is an office-based role with the option to work from home occasionally.

 

Salary: Circa £27,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits package

As a Bond Administrator, you’ll be part of our Surety Underwriting team within our Commercial Insurance business.

 

In a fast paced but rewarding area of the business, you’ll have the opportunity to work within the heart of the underwriting support function liaising with customers, brokers and international colleagues on a regular basis. You’ll be tasked with issuing, renewing and cancelling bonds in what is a critical step in the Surety environment. The role is office-based working with colleagues within a small facility administration team ensuring bonds can be issued daily as customer needs arise.

  

In this role communication and quick learning is key, in turn you will get to experience working for a global, truly people centric organisation. Full training will be provided in this varied and niche area of financial services.

What will you be doing?

 

  • Process bonds and individual transaction requirements throughout the bond lifecycle including the preparation of documents and correspondence.
  • Process facility and security documentation.
  • Review documentation submitted to cancel or reduce bonds and authorise transactions after full training.
  • Co-ordinate the review of bonds due for renewal involving contacting clients and brokers to obtain the necessary underwriting information.
  • Liaise with international colleagues in relation to non-domestic business.
  • Liaise with clients and brokers answering queries during the lifecycle of bonds and in relation to credit control.
  • Check the processing accuracy of others in the team after full training.
  • Provide general underwriting administration support.
  • Co-ordinate ‘one-off’ projects as required.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post.
  • Maintain filing systems – digital and paper.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Previous experience in a similar role – experience or working within Financial Services/Legal is desirable but not essential.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C or above for Maths and English).
  • PC skills to include an excellent knowledge of Word and Excel – knowledge of Salesforce and PowerPoint is desirable but not essential.
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and a desire to continue to improve processes and help drive the business forward.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and build and maintain relationships at all levels of staff, both within and outside of the team.
  • Committed to provide high quality work with a strong focus on accuracy in a time pressured environment, while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information to produce an output with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and cope with varying workloads and pressure.
  • Effective at working independently as well as in collaboration with others with a willingness to undertake a varied number of duties.
  • Ability to use initiative and recognise when an innovative approach to tasks / problems is required.
