Cover-More Group
Zurich Group and Cover-More Group have recently acquired AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business (AIG Travel), including the well-known brand, Travel Guard®.
This acquisition strengthens Cover-More Group’s global footprint and positions us as a leading travel insurer in both the U.S. and globally. This strategic move aligns perfectly with ZGV’s mission to make insurance more accessible, relevant, and meaningful to our customers. By expanding our global travel business platform, we will significantly grow our customer base. We will also strengthen our global capability through AIG Travel's global IT platform, providing an opportunity for Cover-More to extend its award-winning travel assistance apps to a broader set of partners and customers.
AIG Travel's global service centers, located in the U.S., Mexico, the UK, Bulgaria, China, the Philippines, and Malaysia, complement Cover-More's established service operations and command centers in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. This deal represents a transformative opportunity for Cover-More Group to enhance our service capabilities on a global scale.
We are currently looking for a Head of Enterprise Risk Management for Zurich Cover-More Group. This position reports to the Chief Risk Officer, Zurich Cover-More Group and will be based in New York.

As a member of Zurich Cover-More’s global risk leadership team, you closely collaborate with your colleagues around the globe. The environment is fast-paced, content-driven and global, and the topics touch all aspects of the Zurich Cover-More Group, from strategy through to operations.
The Head of Enterprise Risk Management will work with the CRO to design and implement our target state both during and post integration addressing capabilities to be fit for the future, simplification of processes and generation of risk insights.
The Head of Enterprise Risk Management is a highly specialized role that requires a strong background in Risk Management, Internal Governance or Operations. This role provides risk insights to Zurich Cover-More stakeholders through effective risk assessments, internal risk reporting and communications.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee implementation of Zurich group risk management framework across Zurich Cover-More.
- Design and implement Risk and Control Committee and key risk reporting for Zurich Cover-More.
- Advise management on standards/regulations applicable to the management of risk.
- Ensure early identification of risks and issues and that follow up mitigation and monitoring takes place.
- Provide 360° view of risk and oversee risk assessments throughout Zurich Cover-More.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and contributions within the Zurich Cover-More risk management team.
- Ensure that Zurich Risk Policy is broadly recognized as the foundation for all risk management activities across the organization and assist business in assuring compliance with the policy.
- Provide consistent, reliable, and timely delivery of risk information to relevant decision-making and governance bodies.
- Advise executive management regarding risk mitigating actions depending on risk limit utilization and forward-looking risk assessments.
- Ensure strong position of risk management with senior business leaders/management across Zurich Cover-More.
- Drive coordination with other assurance providers.
- Provide training and support to the business on risk management tools and processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Risk Management or Internal Governance or Operations area
AND - Knowledge of business operations, managing organizational or business line risk
- Experience assessing and mitigating threats to the business
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific knowledge in Risk Management, or Business Operations within the Insurance Inustry
- Excellent business partnering experience
- Strong influencing, advisory and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced problem solving and strategic analysis experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive, driven, action and results oriented
- Ability to reach practical solutions in complex, multi-interest settings by showing adaptability and taking personal ownership of delivery
- Models behaviors that demonstrates commitment to Zurich values
- Risk-related professional certification, e.g., IRM International Diploma
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply, as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is 127,400 – 208,600 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 25%.
