Senior Casualty Risk Engineering Consultant

Zurich’s Risk Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant with casualty industry & insurance experience. This role includes both field and account engineering responsibilities. This is a work from home role, ideally positioned within the NJ/NY metropolitan areas. In this role, you will primarily service customers in the Northeast, focusing on New England states. This role includes a company car with expected travel up to 50%.

 

Our Senior Risk Engineering Consultant is responsible for:

  • Managed account risk portfolio and provided account-level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Developing and implementing customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.
  • Providing engineering support to the underwriting team by attending client broker meetings
  • Monitoring casualty account engineering services to ensure that delivery is proper, on time, and cost-effective.
  • Perform casualty risk assessments or specific LOB exposure evaluations for prospects and existing customers within the Northeast region.
  • Providing casualty consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses, and management programs
  • Assisting in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments. 

 

Final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check as this position includes a company car.

  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area 
    OR 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area 
    AND 
  • Experience working in a team environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, Health and Safety, or related degree
  • Account Executive & Loss Control/Risk Engineering experience within the insurance industry
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations a plus.
  • Experience with assessing casualty exposures
  • Capable of managing and coordinating safety services for large customers with multiple locations.
  • Knowledgeable in safety management programs that control workplace hazards, educate employees, and promote safety awareness/accountabilities

 

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $96,300.00 - $157,700.00.
