The Workplace Experience Centre of Excellence (CoE) is dedicated to designing and delivering great products and experiences to employees. Within this COE, the Digital Employee Experience squad is focused specifically on solutions aim to streamline operations, improve employee engagement, and foster a positive work culture.
The primary goal of an Agile Delivery Manager is to create an environment that supports efficient collaboration and empowers team members to deliver high-quality work aligned to the Zurich Way, our Agile and Value Driven Delivery framework. By creating and fostering an environment of continuous improvement, feedback and team empowerment, the Agile Delivery Manager contributes significantly to the overall success of Agile initiatives.
The ADM reports to the ADM Chapter Lead and is allocated to squads in each of the segments to uplift the delivery capability of the team and ensure efficient delivery of outcomes, aligning to our North Star of being Australia’s leading digital insurer.
You will also be responsible for the following:
- Optimising how squads operate and deliver - guiding teams towards becoming autonomous, self-organising teams.
- Assists to identify and support removal of blockers for the squad
- Support Product Owner in backlog prioritisation - collaborate closely with the Product Owner in their development and prioritisation of the backlog using the product roadmap as guidance and delivery metric insights.
- Tracks performance and delivery outcomes - ensures team level delivery metrics (e.g. velocity, burndown charts, sprint outcomes, cycle time) are transparent. Uses data driven decision making to assist teams in improving their Agile maturity.
- Drive business and technology dependency alignment – tracking through visualising dependencies between business and technical activities within squads and supporting resolution of dependency conflicts
- Support squad engineering, testing, release, and deployment activities - collaborates with the Product Owner, Crew Leads, Technical Lead and Segment Delivery Manager to support engineering, testing, release, and deployment activities, ensuring the team meets the definition of done and quality expectations.
- Accountable for ensuring delivery frameworks are followed appropriately in the squad(s) – this includes the right tool sets and standards as well as the Zurich’s delivery approach / frameworks are adhered to, to ensure quality and consistency of delivery. Right tool, Right time for the Right outcome.
- A champion for facilitating the squad to have a shared voice – squad has safety to raise concerns and transparency of information. Creates an environment based on openness, commitment, focus, courage, and respect.
- Connects squads to rest of crew / segment - supports the team by connecting them to the rest of the crew and segment (e.g., impediment removal, release scheduling/coordination, inputs into quarterly planning, and consulting SMEs).
- Coaching the team in agile ways of working and looking at ways to continuously improve - helping team to uplift delivery capability by building a value driven delivery culture; coaching squad towards high performance and autonomy and championing Agile mindset, principles, methodologies and ensuring agile ceremonies are facilitated (and evolves to these being run by the team itself).
- Promotes sustainable working using data – utilising delivery metrics to ensure a sustainable pace of work within the squad through understanding priorities and available capacity.
Important to your success - let's grow together
- Tertiary qualifications and/ or substantial relevant experience
- Knowledge and understanding of both project management and agile delivery processes, tools and techniques with the ability to adapt based on scope.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the industry and related products.
- Relevant broad business experience.
- Understanding of Product Management with Agile
- Experience in delivery of technology initiatives
- Knowledge of modern-day delivery practices including agile delivery frameworks, DevSecOps, and CI/CD
- Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement and problem-solving capabilities.
- Change management and communication experience would be preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of workplace, IT infrastructure & technology would be preferred
