Reporting to the Liability Claims Team Leader, the Claims Handler, Liability will provide proactive market leading, timely, effective and cost efficient management of a portfolio of Liability claims, following the Zurich Casualty Claims strategy Provide mentoring, coaching and training to the wider team.
You will also be responsible for the following:
- Manage claims in accordance with all procedures outlined in the Claims Manual
- Maintain effective diary system.
- Conduct timely investigations in regard to indemnity, liability and quantum.
- Review new claims
- Partner with customers and supply partners to proactively manage a portfolio of claims
- Finalise claims in a timely manner
- Develop professional working relationships with Liability Claims and Underwriting teams, Complex Crew Lead, Head of Technical Claims and Head of Claims as required

In order to be successful you will have some of the following:
- Good technical claims knowledge and the ability to effectively manage technical claims autonomously.
- Aware of the relevant State based legislation and associated guidelines.
- Thorough understanding of the Insurance Code of Practice and Insurance Contracts Act.
- Thorough understanding of the relevant Privacy Act.
- Ability to direct solicitors/counsel in case management
- Develop superior negotiation strategies on all files appropriate for resolution
- Autonomous attendance at all external meetings / conferences / views / court appearances etc
