As the National Underwriter for Accident & Health (A&H), you will play a pivotal role in supporting our global growth ambitions within this product line through strong market engagement and the robust application of underwriting and technical principles. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Casualty to achieve our objectives.

 

In this role, you will underwrite complex corporate accounts and manage key external relationships with international broking houses, strategic broking partners, MGA partners, cluster groups, and direct clients. You will also promote the Zurich A&H proposition, identifying opportunities that align with our appetite, including corporate accounts, complex cases, schemes, and facilities.

 

Additionally, you will support the Head of Casualty in developing A&H product strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining underwriting governance, and executing strategic growth initiatives to sustain our strong and stable performance. You will monitor our performance against financial and other portfolio optimisation metrics, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

 

You will be accountable for aligning internal stakeholders, including our executive leadership and sales teams, with our strategic ambitions. Furthermore, you will support the enhancement of team capabilities and raise awareness about Accident & Health insurance.

  • Extensive experience as an underwriter in Accident & Health.
  • Solid knowledge of Insurance Law and regulation.
  • Clear understanding of financial and statistical matters.
  • Strong implementation and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to present effectively to various audiences.
  • Tier 1 Accreditation to support Zurich’s authorizations as listed in the AFSL and outlined in ASIC PS164.104C.
