At Zurich we fully embrace the agile ways of working, as a Technical Business Analyst you will work in IT and play a critical role in driving the requirements elicitation and documentation, solution design and ongoing support of technical as well as business solutions for a range of exciting new initiatives at Zurich’s Digital Platform team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- This role is suitable for a BA who is an ex developer or has solid understanding of messaging technologies such as XML, JSON, as well as experience with various schema definitions such as XSD, RAML, and others.
- Working experience with technologies such as Mulesoft, Salesforce, etc. is highly regarded.
- Experience with Mainframe (i.e. COBOL based systems) and understanding of copybook format is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working in the insurance industry.
- Elicit detailed requirements by conducting interviews, workshops and other techniques that appropriate to each specific situation.
- Capable of writing detailed technical functional specifications as well as user stories.
- Be the bridge between the business and IT, define and document business as well as technical requirements.
- Work closely with SMEs, architects and developers and design solutions that are customer centric, intuitive and cost effective.
- Effectively handle additional changes through negotiations and prioritisations.
- Build strong working relationship with key stakeholders, identify opportunities, explore and define alternative options and make recommendations.
- Manage other BA activities such as gap analysis, impact analysis, estimation, documenting “as is” and “to be”, production handovers as well as supporting SIT, UAT and PVT;
Your skills and experience
As a Tech BA specialising in Insurance you will have extensive experience in domain knowledge such as Life insurance, superannuation and in particular, customer communications. You will demonstrate expert knowledge in designing and implementing customer centric solutions for effective communications.
You will also have:
- Multiple years experience in the Insurance industry as a Technical Business Analyst.
- Experience in gathering and analysing requirements for systems such as Mulesoft, Salesforce, mainframe (COBOL) is highly regarded. Please note this role requires technical background to define requirements at a system level.
- Proven experience in working in an agile (scrum, kanban etc.) and fast paced environment.
- Solid experience in using JIRA, Confluence, Visio etc.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
- Embrace changes with a “can do” attitude, stay flexible and ready for working in a fast paced environment. Able to accept new tasks at short notice.
- Ability to work with multiple squads and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
