A great opportunity has arisen to join Zurich as a Trustee Claims Review Manager.

 

In this diverse role, you will be responsible for drafting recommendations for Trustee decisions on approved and declined superannuation claims, and identifying/ providing clear requirements to our administration providers for any additional documents needed to satisfy superannuation and taxation obligations.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Working closely with the Trustee Services Manager, internal stakeholders, and our third party administrator to enable an effective experience from insurance decision to superannuation payment, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulatory obligations, legislation and codes of practice
  • Performing independent reviews of approved and adverse superannuation claims and associated superannuation tasks, ensuring appropriate requirements are received for satisfaction of insurance policy, Trust Deed, SIS and Tax requirements, challenging insurer decisions where required, and preparing recommendations for Trustee or delegated authority decisions
  • Requesting information from members to provide any additional requirements needed to satisfy any superannuation obligations prior to payment
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and our third party administrator for the effective and timely provision of claims handling services
  • Liaising with the Trustee on claims outside of the delegated authority to ensure all beneficiaries are appropriately updated and information requested to ensure claim staking can be performed promptly.

 

 

Important to your success – let’s grow together

 

  • Strong experience within superannuation, with a technical background in superannuation life insurance claims and the regulatory environment in which they operate.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing both approved and adverse Death, Total and Permanent Disablement, Terminal Illness, and Income Protection superannuation claims.
  • Experience drafting recommendations to superannuation Trustees for life insurance claim decisions.
  • Strong understanding of Trustee obligations, LICOP and ISVCOP
  • A solution focused mindset and ability to work autonomously in an agile environment
  • Exposure to internal and external dispute resolution processes with regards to superannuation claims will be advantageous.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
