SAP BW/4HANA Consultant - Application Subject Matter


Our opportunity


To join the Application support team as a Subject Matter Expert.

The role will provide an opportunity to learn and support Global Claims and Finance application. The SME’s have a wide remit covering small changes, collaboration on projects, optimization on current solutions and level 2 support for BAU escalations.

SME’s are ideally placed to develop a strong profile in the organization working with the technical support teams in IT. It is an opportunity to develop knowledge and expertise within IT delivery, SME’s gain exposure to both Service delivery and will learn about the ITIL model as well as project scoping and delivery utilizing the Zurich project delivery framework.

This role is an ideal opportunity to learn and develop a broad breadth of BI tools, SAP BW/4HANA, possibly also MicroStrategy, PowerBI and also to take ownership of delivery boosting your profile within the organization.


Your role


As a Subject Matter Expert your main responsibilities will involve 


  • Maintain Classic BW and BW4/HANA application (Incident, Change requests, Service request, project collaborations)
  • Finance and Claims reporting processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the function or business unit
  • Support and review the documentation of functional specifications
  • Act as liaison between the Business and IT, as assigned
  • Support the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues
  • Actively participate/lead the change management lifecycle


Your Skills and Experience


As a Subject Matter Expert your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 


  • Experience of 3-5 years with SAP BW / BW4HANA
  • Experience minimum of 2 years with SAP ABAP (including Object Oriented Programming)
  • Be able to follow ITIL processes – incident management, change and request management, customer interaction
  • Any reporting experience is a bonus (PowerBI, Microstrategy, Tableau, BORP, AfO)
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment, Flexibility and ability to learn
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English (Spanish, other western European languages desirable)
