Business Systems Analyst III

Zurich North America is currently hiring a Business Systems Analyst III and this person will work in a hybrid schedule at our Schaumburg North America HQ.  This person will report directly to an Application Delivery Manager, Enterprise Underwriting Solutions.

 

This individual will work with the team to translate policy administration business requirements into technical specifications for application updates related to projects, enhancements, and compliance needs while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction, and implementation of these updates to the applications. The ideal candidate will be an individual that is an energetic and skilled professional requiring minimal supervision, can lead others, and will serve as the liaison between the Business and IT.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Functional Business Systems Analyst for Guidewire policy center, senior level role supporting changes to enterprise applications.
  • Coordinate and lead activities with business owners to gather detailed requirements through interviews, and documentation and facilitate working sessions for approved projects and enhancements.
  • Support system configuration and integration testing including the functionality, performance, and fit to ensure original requirements are met.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to others in the organization.
  • Organize and manage multiple assignments with competing priorities and deadlines, while adhering to departmental guidelines and expectations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area AND
  • Process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience
  • Experience with process modeling tools
  • Insurance application system design/analysis experience
  • Experience with use case development
  • Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance business processes and processing.
  • Familiarity with ISO commercial/personal lines and be able to analyze circulars and filing materials and translate them into functional requirements.
  • 2 or more years of experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Ability to investigate Production Incidents and help resolve them on a timely fashion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working on Agile Scrum teams and facilitating requirements development discussions with Scrum team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed; ability to tailor approach based upon audience and message.
  • Advanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills.
