Claims Internship (Summer 2023)


Zurich is currently looking for a Claims Intern for Summer 2023, to support our Claims Vendor Management team out of our Schaumburg, IL office.


This intern will work under immediate supervision and perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, this position is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor.


As a Claims Intern, you will work on project(s) to transition the vendor billing audit platform while working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Key responsibilities include:

  • Work on implementation of the new platform
  • Assist in designing a new, comprehensive vendor assignment process


Skills you will develop:

  • Project management
  • Data Analysis
  • Quality Control
  • Sharpen skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)


Other development opportunities:

  • Assigned daily tasks with a structured schedule and support from Claims Vendor Management and CAT Operations team
  • Gain exposure to internal systems such as Claims Connect, Counsel Link, and Power BI
  • Opportunity to participate in community investment activities and various group activities offered by Zurich


Basic Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Statistics or related field
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2023
  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the administrative area
  • Microsoft Office experience 
  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Propensity for follow through
  • Strong ability to prioritize
  • Strong organizational skills
