VP, Data & Analytics Lead, Claims


Zurich North America is looking for a Data and Analytics Lead to partner with our Claims organization as a part of the Data & Analytics leadership team, ideally based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. This position can also be based out of our lower Manhattan office in New York City. Virtual candidates will also be considered.


Zurich’s Data & Analytics team use data and analytics to tackle business challenges, making a real difference to how Zurich and our customers understand and manage risk. Data & Analytics at Zurich encompasses data science, analytics, and data visualizations as well as creating and delivering on our data strategy.


Your core responsibility as the Data & Analytics Lead is to lead a talented team of data science professionals to solve business challenges and to drive impact for Zurich’s Claims organization. The Data & Analytics Lead is also responsible for the following:


  • Work closely with Claims stakeholders to create a data and analytics strategy that enables Claims to achieve their strategic priorities
  • Manage the Data & Analytics Program for Claims, which includes working with your team to:
    • Understand business problems and processes and translate these into data and analytics solutions that stakeholders want to use
    • Ensure the quality of the data and analytics solution being built
    • Work with stakeholders after deployment to ensure that impact is achieved
  • Manage prior Data & Analytics work products deployed in Claims to maximize impact
  • Lead the Data & Analytics team supporting Claims, developing their analytic and business problem-solving skill sets
  • As a leader in the Data & Analytics team, contribute to overall strategy, share knowledge, and deliver innovation.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Strategic Planning area
  • 7 or more years in management consulting or corporate strategy / internal consulting
  • 5 or more years of Project Manager level experience in managing multiple teams at a given time within management consulting
  • Experience in building strategic agenda for medium to large organizations or Business Units
  • Experience in working closely with CEOs to identify and solve issue of highest importance to the organizations and CEO agenda
  • Experience in building people capabilities in a professional services environment


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in using data and analytics, including data science, to solve business challenges and drive business impact
  • Knowledge of statistical and data science models
  • Experience managing and coaching an analytics team
  • Commercial Property & Casualty knowledge and experience
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical professionals
