*Data Engineer II
Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Data Engineer II to work with SAP and actuary applications and the reporting warehouse to transfer to more modernized systems applications. Specific duties include: understand the requirement documents and get it clarified with Business analysts; analyze the technical specification and create detailed design documents; develop ETL using Informaitca, Shell scripts using Linux as per the business specification documents; manage the offshore and onshore teams for completion of development and system unit testing; debug the issues and effectively communicate with customers for resolution; analyze the UAT issues/new scenarios and provide immediate resolution to the customers; fine tune of SQL queries to improve the performance; participate in release/Production handover meetings and adhere to the process; and participate in production deployment support and necessary communication with customers for signoffs. Option to work remotely is available.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Manager, Senior Consultant, Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar position working with various applications and transferring to more modernized systems applications. Must have 7 years of experience designing and developing using Informatica Power Center. Specific experience must also include: designing ETL mappings and workflows using Informatica; implementing ETL process using Informatica Power Center and Informatica Power Exchange; optimizing and tuning the Mappings and Sessions in Informatica; working with programming languages including Python, Shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL; working with database platform Netezza; developing a data profiling process; working with job scheduling tool AutoSys; working with cloud technologies including Informatica cloud, Yellow brick, and Databricks; and working with cloud ELT technology DBT.
