Information Security Technical Consultant

Zurich North America is currently hiring an Information Security Technical Consultant and this person will work in a hybrid schedule at the Schaumburg, IL North America Headquarters.  This person will report to a Cybersecurity Senior Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Actively participate in the security design and regular activities for backup and recovery system including
    • Clean Room Strategy
    • Restore Testing
    • Reporting and Health
    • Access Management
    • Creation of Run Books
    • Threat Hunting
    • Threat Monitoring
    • Anomaly Detection
  • Evaluate, improve, and maintain the information security throughout the backup infrastructure.
  • Partners with local stakeholders (e.g. IT functions, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and business leaders) to align IT security strategies.
  • Provide consultancy on project and services to support mitigation of risk and control implementation leading to effective risk management.
  • Assists complex local or regional projects to identify and align business and technical security requirements, design security controls and test their effectiveness ensuring the product implemented addresses both business and security needs.
  • Drives implementation of IT security, risk and compliance technologies leading to an overall reduction of risk and carries out control assurance for IT service providers, ensuring control implementation and identifying broader systemic issues.
  • Develops and leads risk awareness campaigns, raising engagement with end users in alignment with local requirements.
  • Provides regional support and coordination for audit and other assurance processes.
  • Provides consultancy on applying and improving security architecture and product standards enabling optimization.
  • Regional support of policy and standards exceptions leading to higher adoption rates.
  • Provides regional support and coordination for security response processes including vulnerability management, incident response and forensics leading to timely and accurate remediation.
  • Follow defined security policies and guidelines to ensure information security, and highlight any potential discrepancy.

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree and 5 or more years of experience in the information technology area OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the information technology area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the information technology area AND
  • IT Governance experience
  • Experience with Backup software technologies
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with software development lifecycle process
  • Experience in Information Security and User Experience Design
  • MS Office experience
  • Knowledge of private/public cloud services, concepts of cloud security of ZERO trust
  • Experience with Service Now technology

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with backup and recovery software
  • Background with Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; including syndicating IT topics with technical and non-technical employees.
  • Experience with collaboration and building credibility with senior leaders
  • Experience with workplace / end user services
