Operations Performance Lead, Large Casualty


We are currently seeking an Operations Performance Lead (Large Casualty) to join the USNA Operations Large Casualty Team. This role will report to the Large Casualty Operations Leader and may be based from any Zurich North American office location.

In this role you will help direct the planning, execution, and measurement of Large Casualty strategic and transformational initiatives, while engaging directly with the senior leadership team, and will be accountable for shaping and driving transformational initiatives for the SBU as well as Business Unit wide initiatives.


Additional responsibilities include:


  • Leading, designing, and/or facilitating cross-functional projects that promote organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and profitability
  • Providing methodologies and tools to sponsors and team members to support initiatives and institutionalize a culture that embraces innovation
  • Taking a holistic approach to identifying business improvement opportunities, developing solutions, managing initiatives, and identifying the resources  
  • Ensure specific metrics and measurements are incorporated into solutions reflecting the business strategy, tracking progress, capturing the impact of changes, and identifying further opportunities for improvement to ensure successful implementations
  • Working with underwriting management to drive continuous improvement in operational performance through creative problem solving

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting area
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting area
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting area
  • Experience in Organizational Effectiveness or Change Management
  • Experience in the application of existing and/or change management methodologies and tools
  • Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Insurance industry knowledge with subject matter expertise in at least one functional insurance discipline, such as Underwriting, Claims, Risk, Engineering
  • Experience with Large Casualty

The salary range for this role is $91,680-$114,600. This is the range Zurich NA in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting.  Zurich NA may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in any US State.  This range may be modified in the future.  This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
