Operations Services Supervisor - Underwriting


Zurich North America has an Operations Services Supervisor opportunity available. This role will support Underwriting within Operations Services and be based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. This role has the ability to be hybrid with 2-4 days per month in the office with flexibiity based on business need.


Operations Services provides a variety of services that support the underwriting process and various internal and external customers. We are focused on consistent service delivery, as well as incremental and transformational improvements, which result in improved service delivery and efficiency. Our approach is to partner with the business units to understand priorities, challenges, and strategy changes, and to learn how we can best contribute to their success.


In this role you will lead, motivate and develop operations support staff, supporting one or more business units in a processing location and delivering excellent service.

• Promote effective operations through standardization, improvement, simplification, discontinuance, or other methods.

• Implement new systems and procedures in various departments and instruct personnel regarding them.
• Implement recommendations on improving workflow/processes of a functional area or accountability.
• Ensure that the volume of work produced by the unit meets or exceeds the product/service standards and quality standards.

• Make staffing decisions concerning hiring, training/development, and evaluation of staff performance.

• Schedule and organize personnel to accommodate workflow. Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Administer performance evaluations and coach/counsel others.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area

• People management experience
• Familiarity with production/metrics performance environment
