Performance Testing Lead


Zurich is currently searching for a Performance Testing Lead to join the Guidewire Policy Center program as a member within the Information Technology Services team out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.


This team is accountable for executing on a strategy and deliverables that focuses on building Guidewire testing competencies and developing efficiencies for Zurich’s underwriting organization.


The Performance Testing Lead will be responsible in leading a non-functional testing team whose key goal is to improve the performance, capacity, and resilience of the Guidewire PolicyCenter/ Underwriting Management Applications.  The Performance Testing Lead will also support the definition and maintenance of a set of robust non-functional requirements grounded in real-world user metrics and experience.  The Lead will be tasked at designing, executing, and managing a repeatable set of non-functional tests using Micro Focus - Performance Center/ Load Runner or equivalent tools.  As a Performance Testing Lead, you will be responsible for planning test strategies and monitoring performance tests using industry leading tools like Performance Center, JMeter, Dynatrace, Splunk, App dynamics, Data Dog, Guidewire Profiler, and other similar tools. 


The Lead will oversee and lead vendor teams supporting Non-Functional testing for the platform and will have experience in Test management on large transformation programs delivered using the Agile methodology.

Other primary accountabilities include:


  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure

  • Relevant industry certifications in Load runner, JMeter or Neoload 

  • Experience of managing multiple Projects / stake holders to deliver overlapping software releases

  • Provide day to day direction to the testing teams which includes onsite and offshore contract resources

  • Participate in daily stand-up/Scrum calls and project status meetings to provide testing status and testing metrics

  • Identify key risk items and dependencies and communicate effectively with cross functional teams and management


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Quality Assurance area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience with Guidewire projects/implementations in the P&C insurance industry with focus on performance testing

  • Experience in a lead testing role

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Experience in a lead Quality Assurance role

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience collaborating across functional teams

  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work in an Agile environment

  • Excellent organization and planning skill
