Senior Salesforce Architect Consultant


Zurich is currently searching for a Senior Salesforce Architect Consultant to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.


This position will be part of a Core Platform Modernization team and is responsible for developing Salesforce.com solutions for all or part of an assigned project(s). As a subject matter expert and acting consultant on Salesforce.com, this position has system-wide responsibility on complex components or complex projects, and leverages knowledge of applications development methodologies and other technologies to produce comprehensive solutions, within the agreed quality, service commitment levels, schedules and budgets while providing direction for an entire project or a project team.


The Architect will also partner with Business stakeholders and other Architects, Developers, and Business Analysts in new project designs while working with other Salesforce architects in development and with developers in the delivery of code review and deployment.  Other responsibilities will include project implementations that action full capabilities (i.e. discover, design, implementation, and optimization) of the Salesforce platforms.


Responsibilities may include but not necessarily limited to:

  • Leading a team of Salesforce Architects and Developers in your area to develop and implement IT business processes and manage performance across all activities, in order to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance

  • Creating and maintaining a constructive and supportive relationship with business partners

  • Ensuring all projects are initiated within Salesforce IT's delivery framework and satisfy business partner needs while aligned to IT and business strategy

  • Representing Salesforce/IT in the development and continual review of all business strategy and plans

  • Managing the service delivery of respective applications according to Service Level Agreements and addressing gaps with the business

  • Reporting application service performance to the business and acting where necessary to address application performance issues

  • Ensuring compliance with IT application, development and maintenance service management governance standards and policies

  • Managing internal and external suppliers as required in the delivery of the relevant Salesforce application through any application development and ongoing maintenance

  • Maintaining a business-oriented IT service catalogue for applications, including links to business processes, service levels and request management for IT services

  • Monitoring critical application governance and reporting on service level performance and generating improvement actions where necessary

  • Ensuring that every critical application has a technology roadmap in maintaining related hardware and software and reducing operational risk from out-of-support infrastructure in collaboration with architecture and IT Infrastructure

  • Managing customer satisfaction and service improvement programs, as well as escalations and complaints management

  • Approving operational readiness for projects and releases

  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate internal control and regulatory requirements for both internal and external suppliers, and aiding and support for audits, where applicable

  • Partner with key stakeholders (e.g. compliance, audit, and business leaders) to assess the risks associated with proposed policies, regulatory change and give guidance to input into governance processes and standards

  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships across the organization in order to achieve engagement to change, and provide technical leadership in the design and development of new Salesforce solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

  • IT Strategy


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree preferred

  • Advanced Developer Certified (DEV501, i.e. Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II) highly preferred

  • Three or more years of experience in the Lightning Aura Component

  • One or more years of experience in Lightning Web Components highly preferred

  • Three or more years of experience with Classes, Controllers and Triggers

  • Three or more years of experience with Rest API integration

  • Three or more years of experience with Salesforce Batch Apex

  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, relational database principles, and operating systems

  • Experience in design and development of enterprise systems

  • Execution experience in the Agile delivery model

  • Experience in working with various project stakeholder at various levels in a matrix organization
