Sr Business Internal Auditor, Group Audit

Our audit team is growing!  Zurich North America is currently hiring a Sr Business Internal Auditor, Group Audit and this person will be based out of our Schaumburg NA HQ or remotely for the right candidate. 

 

Group Audit North America is part of the globally, fully integrated Group Audit function, which reports into the Group Audit Committee. Our work is valued by management who pay attention to our insights. In five years from now it is likely that you will be auditing products, services and systems that have not been invented yet, and doing these using tools and techniques that also have not been invented yet. We will invest in you so that you learn continuously, grow and stay at the forefront of your profession.  We will support your development both in internal audit and insurance knowledge through on and off the job learning programs, strong mentoring and will fund relevant professional certifications in Internal Audit and insurance. 

 

Through variety of businesses and functions that make up Zurich North America, you will be given diverse audit engagement opportunities in the world of insurance and give you exposure across the organization.  

 

Our audit plan is dynamic and entirely risk-based. Our team is not required to perform annual SOX/ICFR testing. You will also have the opportunity to participate in global audits and Group Audit wide initiatives and interact with leaders and team members from other countries. 

 

Basic qualifications:  

 

  • Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in finance, accounting or audit (compliance, financial, operational) OR a combination of each
  • Travel 10-25%

 

Preferred qualifications: 

 

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Insurance, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or related financial disciplines 
  • Hold, or be pursuing, one or more of the following processional certifications:  Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other insurance industry designations
  • Audit experience in insurance or financial services 
  • Basic understanding of insurance risks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Data analytics skills and experience
  • Demonstration of continuous learning on and off the job 
  • Inquisitive mindset with enthusiasm for learning something new everyday 
  • Strong team player skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications including presentation skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish and meet deadlines 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics software
