Strategic Consultant


Zurich North America is looking for a Strategic Consultant to join our Strategy, Innovation, Business Development (SIBD) team based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.


The Strategic Consultant role on the SIBD team will help address some of the most important issues facing Zurich by collaborating with subject matter experts from all areas of the company on a wide variety of high-profile projects in a fast-moving environment.


Responsibilities include:


  • Supporting the development of corporate vision, strategies, and innovation for Zurich North American and designated business unit(s)
  • Facilitating and supporting strategic and / or operational projects and solving high-profile, complex problems that are important to our financial, operational, and market success
  • Developing market intelligence and conducting competitive landscape analyses
  • Evaluating business opportunities and preparing business cases from strategic, operational, and financial perspectives
  • Developing written communications (e.g. PowerPoint and SOAPs) that convey analyses and insights in a cohesive story, adapting to meet stakeholder needs/expectations


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Strategic and Operational Consulting area


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in strategic or operational consulting
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills – with ability to adjust message to varying levels of audience
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, and database skills
  • Self-starter with ability to navigate ambiguity and change
  • Property & Casualty insurance or Financial Services experience
  • Financial modeling experience
