Tax Analyst

Zurich North America is hiring a Tax Analyst to join their team!  We are open to hiring talent in our Zurich office located in Schaumburg, IL. The successful candidate under guidance will perform routine tax transactional tasks and resolve a range of straight forward problems in tax accounting, reporting, planning, audits, research and/or compliance to ensure actions are completed to appropriate service levels or defined procedures.

This is a hybrid work position, however, the candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report into one of the following North American office locations: Schaumburg, IL.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

  • Prepares tax returns and supporting workpapers, estimated tax payments and various other tax compliance.

  • Assists in preparing quarterly tax provisions, including reports to management and the external auditor, account reconciliations, tax basis balance sheet support, and execution of internal controls.

  • Supports company tax audits, responses to tax notices, and timely resolution of other tax controversy matters.

  • Performs basic technical research to address tax issues, including planning opportunities.

  • Provides other tax support, which may include analyses of pending legislation, preparation of required transfer pricing documentation and reporting, and implementation of legislative changes.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and No prior experience required in the Accounting and Finance area
    OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Accounting and Finance area
     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • CPA

  • Strong spreadsheet skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Master’s Degree

  • Accounting and/or tax internship and/or professional experience in public or corporate accounting

  • Experience with CorpTax and/or SAP

  • Microsoft Office skills; strong spreadsheet skills

 

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply, as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary for this position is $48,600 - $79,500, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
