Technology Operations Analyst (Mid-Senior or Senior level)
Zurich North America is hiring an Technology Operations Analyst – Legal Services to join our team! We are open to hiring talent to work at our Schaumburg office. This is a Hybrid position with 3 day in office.
Position Summary
The Technology Operations Analyst in the Technology Operations team for Legal Services will play a critical role in analyzing, managing, and leveraging data to drive business decisions, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This role goes beyond technical execution, requiring a strong analytical mindset, business acumen, and strategic thinking to ensure that data is not only collected and structured but also transformed into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and stakeholder management capabilities to support the data needs of legal operations, performance tracking, and financial analysis. They will develop scalable Power BI dashboards, analyze key metrics, manage data models, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance Legal Services' data capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage data to support strategic decision-making by analyzing operational and financial performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights into legal spend, matter management efficiency, and departmental performance.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
- Use SQL to extract, clean, and analyze data, ensuring high data quality and accuracy in reporting.
- Support Legal Services' strategic priorities by aligning data solutions with business objectives, operational performance, and financial oversight.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Finance, IT) to define and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) for reporting and analytics.
- Improve and streamline reporting processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency through automation and self-service analytics.
- Develop and optimize data models that support performance tracking, legal spend analysis, and operational metrics.
- Manage data security and governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring that reporting and analytics align with Legal Services' strategic goals.
- Communicate data-driven insights effectively, helping stakeholders understand and act on the data.
- Train and support business users on leveraging Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics tools.

This role will be filled at either the Technology Operations Analyst or Senior Technology Operations Analyst Level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Technology Operations Analyst:
- Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
AND - Experience with data interrogation/analysis techniques.
OR
Senior Technology Operations Analyst:
- Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
AND - Experienced in data interrogation, data profiling or data modeling
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, including writing simple queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., table relationships, primary keys, normalization, and denormalization).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, M Code, and DAX.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and areas for optimization.
- Ability to work with various datasets, extract insights, and present findings in a clear and meaningful way.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
- Eagerness to learn and grow, with a proactive approach to developing new skills in data analytics, technology, and business strategy.
- Familiarity with API integrations, supporting automated data retrieval from third-party systems.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices, ensuring compliance and security in handling sensitive legal data.
- Experience with business process optimization, using data to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Experience in a corporate legal, insurance, or compliance environment with an understanding of industry-specific data challenges.

Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply, as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The combined salary range for this position is $85,500.00 - $161,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Technology Operations Analyst is $85,500.00 - $140,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. For the Senior Technology Operations Analyst is $98,300.00 - $161,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
