Assistant Manager, Planning & Performance Management

The opportunity:

 

As a member of the Finance team in the Singapore office, you will play a pivotal role in frequent engagements with senior leadership and gain a deep understanding of the various business lines within commercial insurance.

 

Your role:

As an Assistant Manager in the Planning and Performance Management team, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Financial Planning: Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Lines of Business Heads in Underwriting, Sales, Operations, Actuaries, and other business stakeholders to identify strategic priorities and develop a comprehensive 3-year plan for the Singapore business unit.

  • Management Reporting and Forecasting: Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality reports, including supporting the PPM Manager in creating robust P&L forecasts. Monitoring and addressing deviations in actuals, forecast, and plan while providing value-added insights to the management team to facilitate informed business decisions.

  • Communication: Serving as the primary point of contact between Finance and Lines of Business heads, effectively communicating financial performance and insights to our stakeholders.

  • Business Process Optimisation and Project Management: Identifying opportunities to improve business processes and add value to the organization. Leading project modules and initiatives related to PPM and broader finance topics as required.

  • Assist with ad-hoc requests.

 

Your skills and experience:

 

  • 5-7 years of experience in finance or a related function, preferably in the insurance sector.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields.

  • Organised and detail-oriented with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as in a team.

  • Experience with desktop tools, including Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills required).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • A keen interest in finance and a passion for continuous learning.

  • A desire to grow professionally and take on new challenges.
