Job Title: Financial Accounting & Reporting Accountant

Location: Singapore

 

The Opportunity:

As a member of the finance team in Zurich Singapore, you will be instrumental in delivering our local financial results to the Group. You will also collaborate with the team to meet the Branch's regulatory and statutory reporting requirements. Additionally, you will play a central role in supporting initiatives and projects related to Financial Reporting and Accounting. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of commercial business lines through the financial reporting lens, enhancing your expertise and making a significant impact on our financial operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform closely related ledger tasks, e. g. accruals, provisions, reconciliations and journals postings as per local and Group requirements.
  • Prepare ledger reports and provide an explanation of the results.
  • Prepare reconciliations for sub-systems, internal controls, and audit.
  • Manage finance systems support, change requests, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist the team in completing the Branch’s regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that accounting, finance-related activities, processes, procedures are followed and completed in line with Group as well as external requirements.
  • Recommend and implement procedural process changes to enhance operating efficiency.
  • Support initiatives/projects related to Financial Reporting and Accounting.
  • Support adherence to Group accounting policy and provide interpretations when needed.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in finance reporting or a related function
  • Finance and accounting education is preferred
  • Fluent spoken and written English skills
  • Experience with desktop tools, including Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills required)
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Strong interest in finance with passion for teamwork and success
  • Knowledge of GST or other taxes is an advantage
