Job Title: Head of Communications & Marketing, APAC

Location: Singapore

 

The Opportunity:

 

Shape and deliver all communication and marketing strategies and initiatives across the APAC region to enhance external reputation, ensure effective internal and external communications, and support business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Communications: Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy for the APAC region, aligned with regional priorities and objectives. Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on communication matters, including crisis management.
  • Set and Deliver Communication Frameworks: Establish and oversee the execution of regional communication frameworks and processes, ensuring consistency and alignment with global standards across all APAC markets.
  • Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communication strategies that promote employee engagement and support organizational goals. Oversee the creation and distribution of internal communication materials, leadership messages, Workplace content, newsletters and intranet content.
  • External Communications: Lead, manage and enhance external communication efforts, including media relations, press releases, and public statements. Develop key messaging and ensure consistent and positive brand messaging across all external communication channels. Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and industry influencers to enhance the company’s brand and reputation in the APAC region.
  • Event Management: Plan and execute regional events, such as conferences and town halls (physical and virtual), employee engagement activities, ensuring that these events effectively communicate regional priorities, direction and ambitions.
  • Brand Marketing Support: Collaborate with local brand marketing teams to ensure messaging consistency across all communication channels. Support brand marketing initiatives by developing strategic communication plans and content.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Global and regional teams, including HR, Customer office, Ops & IT, Legal, etc. to ensure cohesive communication strategies. Act as the primary communication liaison between APAC and global teams.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate a team of communication professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Manage the regional communication budget efficiently.
  • Reputational Risk Management: Stay informed on relevant industry developments and communication practices. Ensure necessary controls are in place to manage reputational risk in line with the group’s risk appetite

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

 

  • Preferably 12+ years of experience in communications and marketing, ideally within a multinational organization or across the APAC region.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive communication and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of internal and external communication channels, including media relations and crisis communication.
  • Solid understanding of the APAC region's market dynamics, cultural nuances, and business environment.
  • Ability to tailor communication strategies to diverse audiences across different markets.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (HR, Legal, Customer Office, IT).
  • Proven ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in planning and executing regional events (physical and virtual).
  • Strong understanding of brand marketing principles and ensuring messaging consistency across channels.
  • Experience in managing reputational risks and crisis communication.
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms and tools (intranets, social media, Workplace).
  • Strong content creation, writing, and editing skills for various audiences.
  • Ability to analyze communication effectiveness using relevant metrics and analytics tools.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic communication advice to senior leadership, including in crisis situations.
