Risk Management Intern

Job Summary

Primary responsibility includes supporting management to ensure internal controls that are in place and operating effectively in accordance with Group Internal Control Framework (ICIF).  Support the business in understanding the root cause of errors identified and help develop remediation actions. Contributes to the timely and accurate execution of assigned activities.   Collaborates effectively, providing support, review and challenge within area of responsibility.

Job Qualifications

Required:


• Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and No prior experience required in the Administrative area within the Insurance industry.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with desktop tools, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively and strong analytical skills.
  • Interest in finance with motivation and willingness to learn.
  • Desire to grow through development opportunities.

 

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities


• Provide general project support.
Support
the daily business.
• Abiltiy to work individually or in a team and follow the instructions of their supervisor.
• In some cases, they will have to do field work and interact with customers or clients.
• Some interns may need to help the company with in-depth research and filing of records.
• In technical or specialised fields, interns need to participate in projects and follow deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Functions

  • Supports stakeholders (risk management and finance) in matters requiring their attention.
  • Participate in cross functional groups to implement or enhance controls based on organizational transformations.
  • Contributes to meeting to provide guidance, on projects and initiatives in assigned areas.
  • Collects and prepares information, data, and presentations support engagement with relevant stakeholders in different departments to ensure that risk management activities are being completed on a timely basis
