The Opportunity:


As a member of the Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) APAC Management Team, lead the development of Account Engineering services and Business Development in ZRS.

 

You will deliver ZRS’s Value Proposition to customers and partners, working with ZRS’s specialists in Core Risk Engineering, Cyber, and Climate Resilience & Sustainability.

Provide expert-level account management, risk assessment, improvement, and engineering services for customers and business partners. Develop and maintain long-term partner / customer relationships and mentor other risk engineers in value proposition development for their accounts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Sales & Distribution Strategy: Lead and execute strategy to achieve top-line goals/targets and key metrics, with corrective actions where needed – delivering profitable growth to plan.
  • Strategic Relationships: Build long-term, profitable relationships with customers and partners, including commercial customers, captives, insurance intermediaries, and domestic insurer partners.
  • High-Performance Culture: Implement and create a high-performance sales and account engineering culture.
  • Performance Targets & Budgets: Establish and agree on key performance targets and financial budgets to optimize business performance in line with objectives.
  • Complex Projects: Lead the implementation of complex projects as part of major change or business improvement initiatives involving multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Risk & Compliance: Advise and instruct team members on risk and compliance policies to mitigate undue risk exposure.
  • Process Development: Develop local sales and distribution processes and review relevant policies to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Senior Leader Relationships: Build relationships with senior leaders to understand and align plans with customer, distributor, or market needs/trends.
  • Customer Cases & Claims: Investigate and review customer cases and claims, representing the organization in contentious cases for speedy resolution in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Key Customer/Distributor Management: Manage complex, high-value customers/distributors, drive business development, negotiate terms of business, and achieve annual sales targets and business growth. Build and maintain close relationships with key customers and distributors in area/channel/segment, to manage (where applicable) negotiating terms of business where required.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead a diverse functional team, set objectives, review performance, participate in selection/promotion decisions, and ensure staff have necessary skills to deliver team objectives, while modeling corporate values and creating a people management plan.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary education including diplomas and certification,  with relevant business experience.
  • Strong awareness of key business drivers and strategic planning capabilities, including lateral thinking.
  • Effective leadership with the ability to positively implement actions, manage performance, and develop/coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate with third parties.
  • Proven ability to network, build, and maintain successful relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with creative thinking and resilience.
  • Self-motivated, goal/results-oriented attitude, and a good team player.

Preferred:

  • Proven experience in customer/industry relationship management, risk assessment of complex/high-risk industries, or managing Risk Engineering programs for large/complex accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales management and distribution models with a track record of delivering sustainable growth.
  • Experience negotiating at higher levels within an organization, with existing key account relationships being a significant benefit.
  • Extensive experience in customer / industry – relationship management or direct work experience is preferred.
