Digital Transformation Architect (Part-Time, Job-Share, Full-Time)
Location: UK (Swindon), Spain (Barcelona) or Ireland (Dublin). Occasional international travel may be required to fulfil this role. The majority will be hybrid/remote.

What will you be doing?
- Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with a team of architects to influence IT architecture across Zurich, focusing on Global Digital Platforms (GDP).
- Solution Architect Role: Operate as a solution architect within projects, while also thinking across programs to deliver architecture assets and integration patterns.
- Technical Leadership: Provide insights on the impact and adoption of architectures, helping teams navigate technical challenges and accelerate delivery.
- Communication & Alignment: Lead architecture for specific projects and influence key stakeholders including IT, business, and senior executives.
- Hands-On Development: Work directly with development teams to implement programs according to the architecture using various techniques such as ASDs, prototyping, and deep dives.
- Establish Best Practices: Develop patterns and best practices to support programs and mature Zurich’s digital architecture through delivery.
- Evangelise Architecture: Promote architecture patterns and technologies to the Zurich group, including other Group/BU architects and developers.
What are we looking for?
What You’ll Need:
- Professional Experience: Experience, preferably in large corporates with an agile/start-up mindset.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in full stack development, cloud architecture (Azure, AWS), application architecture, and working in a global organisation.
- Industry Knowledge: Relevant insurance industry experience (P&C, Life) and up-to-date knowledge of IT trends.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across cultures and geographies.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven influencing and delivery skills, with the ability to manage external suppliers and consultants.
Technical Skills:
- Full Stack Development: Front-end focus.
- Cloud Architecture: Experience with Azure and AWS.
- Application Architecture: Proven track record in various technologies, systems, projects, products, and vendors.
- API Design & Standards: RAML/OAS knowledge.
- Management Platforms: Experience with Azure and MuleSoft.
- Agile/DevOps: Familiarity with ADO, Jira, Safe, and program delivery.
- Communication: Ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
