Event Technologist (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

 

Location: Swindon/Hybrid

 

Fixed Term – 12 months

           

The opportunity: 

 

You are an event professional with good experience and capabilities in traditional event management with a natural aptitude for utilising event technologies to enhance and improve event delivery.

 

You’ll have experience of executing professional, cost effective and complete event management from concept to final delivery. Planning and managing events to ensure they are compliant, sustainable, within agreed timing schedules and budgets.

You will also have a natural aptitude for embracing event technologies. You will be comfortable learning new tools such as virtual event platforms, online registration, attendee interactivity and basic video production. You will be capable of  understanding how the data they provide can bring efficiencies and ultimately enhance the attendees event experience.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Meeting with internal clients, proposing effective event solutions to meet their objectives and business plans
  • Build strong rapport with key business partners both internal and external, as well as appropriate support functions
  • Comfortable negotiating with people at all levels, eloquently balancing subserviency with being assertive
  • Act as first point of contact for delegates, clients and suppliers with regard to questions and queries
  • Ensure the smooth running of all events, both virtual and physical. Making sure all of the necessary preparations, testing, briefings and rehearsals take place. As well as leading the event on the day, coordinating all contributors, delegating actions as appropriate
  • Ability to problem solve, acting decisively but yet uncompromisingly
  • Comfortable handling and working with data to help review trends, demonstrate the value of events and to draw efficiencies to the event management process
  • Executing attention to detail, taking pride in everything you produce
  • Bringing the Zurich brand to life with creative flair whilst maintaining its integrity

 

 

Your skills and experience:

 

  • Be educated to A Level standard or equivalent as a minimum and have some event management experience in either a corporate or agency role
  • Be a fast learner and unphased by new technologies
  • Have the ability to multitask, work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines
  • Approachable and calm under pressure and able to manage conflicting work priorities
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • The ability to work independently and as a team
  • Have experience of working with and managing third party suppliers and venues
  • Have a flexible approach to work various hours across various location as required to ensure delivery of events
  • Sound commercial understanding of how to deliver events within budget in line with agreed service levels.

 

The Reward:

The salary offered for this role is between £26,500 and 33,500pa, depending on experience. As well as this we offer an excellent lifestyle benefits package which includes:
