Responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting of our business unit. Strategic direction and operational oversight will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and transparency of our financial statements. 

 

【Key Tasks & Accountabilities】
■Key Accountabilities
・Lead and mentor a team of financial accounting and reporting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
・Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for general accounting operations, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and complete financial reports.
・Oversee the production of various GAAP reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
・Ensure accuracy of balance sheet, profit & loss, and statistical items required by accounting standards and group instructions.
・Manage and review internal controls to mitigate financial risk, ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and drive process improvements.
・Actively participate in projects related to financial systems implementation, process improvement, and automation, contributing valuable insights and expertise.
・Stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging accounting standards, providing guidance and recommendations to the business unit to ensure compliance and best practices.
・Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate effective collaboration and address financial reporting matters.
・Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistent and standardized financial reporting practices across the business unit.
・Manage projects related to new products and systems in the financial process, ensuring successful implementation and integration.

We are open to considering candidates who possess exceptional leadership abilities and a strong track record of success in roles that have progressed in scope and responsibilities, even if they may not have direct FAR Controller experience.

 

■Business Accountabilities
・Lead, develop, and implement processes and review finance policies relevant to Group Financial Accounting & Reporting.
・Ensure alignment with strategic business objectives and define global standards/guidelines for relevant business disciplines

 

【Relationships】
・Collaborate with all business functions in Japan and the group finance team, fostering strong working relationships.
・Liaise with external auditors, Japan Financial Agency, Tax Authority, and other third parties related to finance reporting, ensuring compliance and effective communication.

 

【Qualifications/Experience】
・Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree, CPA, or equivalent certification is a plus.
・Proven track record of delivering results in progressively responsible roles, demonstrating a strong aptitude for financial accounting and reporting.
・Excellent leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high performance and drive continuous improvement.
・In-dpth knowledge of insurance accounting principles and standards, including JGAAP. Experience with IFRS17 is a plus.
・Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial reporting issues.
・Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
・Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
