Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Head of Claims TPA and Vendor Management.


Reporting to Head of Claims Operations, you will be responsible for creating and implementing the Claims Vendor Management strategy. Accountable for designing, implementing and maintaining vendor programs that manage vendor spend and reduce the total cost of ownership, whilst delivering a customer focused Claims service.  Your responsibilities will include negotiating rates and relationship management with our largest vendors. In this role, you will also oversee Third Party administration, including implementing and managing procedures. You will lead a team of professionals, including performance, development and coaching across the function.

What you will do

 

• Responsible for creating and implementing the Claims Vendor Management or Litigation Management strategy within a Business Unit.
• Responsible for developing, leading and managing a Vendor Management Function whose focus is to develop and implement best working principles, models and protocols to improve vendor program identification, design, implementation, and use.
• Accountable for Vendor contract negotiation.
• Develops and manages Vendor Management methods and metrics to ensure performance against agreed service levels 
• Ownership for managing Claims Vendor performance issues and responsible for seeking out opportunities to eliminate redundancies and leakage in the Claims organization.
• Monitors competitor activity to ensure we maintain a competitive advantage and manage our Vendors in line with industry standards and best practices. Ensures that Vendor and/or Litigation Management best practices are being followed.
• Responsible for communicating with key stakeholders and reporting progress to Claims staff and others as necessary. Work with other Claims staff members to create and advance Zurichs competitive advantage.
• Implement and manage procedures, controls and escalation processes to assure the timeliness and accuracy of the Third Party Administrators data fed to the required Zurich systems via the interface
• Develop and produce management reports and scorecards that will be utilized to improve the management and control of Third Party Administrators. Manage Third Party Administrators' performance issues. 
• Responsible for the due diligence, technical guidance and contract development on new Third Party Administrators
• Provide Third Party Administrators interface system expertise to various areas within the corporation and ensure claims compliance is universal and consistent.
 

Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table

 

• Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims area
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims area
AND
• Approximately 10% travel within Canada, mostly in the GTA
• 10 or more years of Claims experience to include vendor management experience


Preferred:
• People management experience in a claims area and procurement operations
• Strong analytical experience
• Claims functional experience
• Technical expertise in multiple lines
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills
