Regional Distribution Manager - Southwest Region
Zurich North America is looking to hire a Regional Distribution Manager that will support Life A&H sales in the Southwest region of the United States. The qualified candidate will need to reside in the territory that they will be supporting with the preference being Houston, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
As a Regional Distribution Manager, you will build new and maintain existing relationships within multiple distribution channels on a regional basis to ensure additional sources of profitable revenue for Group Accident. Distribution partners in those channels will include MGUs, MGA’s, Program Managers, National, Regional and Local brokers. Candidates will be considered Life A&H subject matter experts in the distribution channel as well as on Business Travel, AD&D and Special Risk products marketed through those channels.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify and develop new partnerships with national, regional and local brokers or program managers that are actively producing business or expanding into the LA&H market niches.
- Maintain existing assigned relationships with LA&H distribution channels and their associated producers and staff. Generating new opportunities, new gross written premium and growing profits.
- Develop annual business plans and strategies to market LA&H products within an assigned product area and/or territory.
- Conduct preliminary assessment of distribution partners for strategic fit within LA&H strategy.
- Collaborate with all LA&H functional areas to facilitate the assessment and participate in the implementation of the distribution partner with the functional areas as well as any third party vendors supporting the partner.
- Develop business annual plans and strategies to focus the distribution partners on specific premium and profit goals that are mutually agreed to. Holding partners accountable for results.
- Support A&H underwriting department in their effort to review and evaluate large LA&H brokers/accounts.
- Collaborate with other internal LA&H resources to ensure new business and renewals are converted into profitable premium growth.
- Support the business development needs of the brokers through the delivery of product information, educational sessions, joint sales calls and other means to increase the engagement of the broker with LA&H.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Sales area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Sales area
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Sales area
AND - Territory or portfolio management experience
- Relationship building experience across internal and external stakeholders
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of business, distribution channels and competitors
- Displays initiative and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, especially presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Displays attention to detail and accuracy
- Works well independently
- Ability to work in fast-paced, fluid and dynamic environment
- Travel required
- Results oriented
