Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineering Consultant

Zurich is seeking a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer. The qualified individual must reside within the Southern Indiana and Ohio area.

 

This is a field role with approximately 25% overnight travel. This is a work from home role and includes a company car.

 

As a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer you are responsible for:

  • Providing jurisdictional inspections and machinery breakdown risk assessment services for customers and business partners. 
  • Providing intermediate machinery breakdown consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazard/machinery breakdown management programs. 
  • Providing basic level training for customers, service design and coordination and loss investigations.

 

This position involves the use of a company car. If selected for the position, your driving record will be examined.

 

The role will be filled at the Risk Engineering Specialist or Risk Engineering Consultant level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

 

Risk Engineering Specialist

  • Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery/Risk Engineering area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery/Risk Engineering area

 

OR

 

Risk Engineering Consultant

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery/Risk Engineering area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery/Risk Engineering area
    AND
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a team environment

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Knowledge within the boiler and machinery industry segment
  • National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission Card
  • Navy Nuclear School
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Edge, Teams and Word)
  • Google Chrome
  • Strong communication and organization skills
