Claims Senior Specialist

 

Zurich Insurance Plc is looking for an experienced Claims Specialist to join our Claims Team based in our Centre of Excellence in Wexford. The Claims Teams, based across both Wexford & Ballsbridge, are responsible for meeting the Insurance needs of our customers through both our broker and direct channels.

The successful candidate of this contract will be responsible for assisting with quality assurance reviews and upskilling, training, and the supporting of ad hoc projects within the claims function. 
Reporting to the Motor Team Lead, the specialist will be required to work closely with senior stakeholders within the claims function and other internal operations, such as IT, Underwriting, Finance, and Sales & Distribution to ensure all areas of the business are managed according to the Zurich Way of Claims.

Key Accountabilities

 


The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:

 

  • To analyse and examine claims expertise through file review activities in order to identify and measure leakages and compliance issues in the claim’s assessment process.
  • To identify possible solutions to be developed in the improvement areas, in order to continuously enhance claims handling process, with particular reference on damages expertise.
  • Liaising closely with senior managers and claim handlers and ensuring that all stakeholders are immediately aware of any important issues that are identified during the files review.
  • Adheres to local regulatory and governance requirements throughout the file review process to ensure that all information and data is obtained within data protection rules and regulations.
  • Helps build and measure success against customer specific claims handling protocol and/or customer proposition service charter to ensure that we understand & fulfil the needs and expectations of our customers
  • Address development needs within the claims offices as identified and act on opportunities to support process/workflow improvement for all Claims groups.
  • Administer, coordinate, develop and communicate claim policies, procedures, programs, and workflow.
  • Conduct due diligence on transactions and processes in order to determine the risk profile in compliance with relevant regulations applicable to claims in own area of work
  • Demonstrate an advanced standard of technical claims competence for assistance in handling moderate to high complexity material damage claims.
  • Proactively contribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights
  • Adhere to Central Bank compliance standards of operating
  • Maintain Claims Records in accordance with regulatory /statutory and internal requirements
  • Partners with development teams to enhance organizational and system performance.
  • Assists the implementation and adoption of strategic IT organizational change management initiatives and facilitate the roll-out of the new ways of working
  • Delivers and facilitates training programs and workshops to specific target groups in specialist subjects as well as in standardized soft skill themes
  • Participates in the execution of a number of initiatives that deliver IT Service Excellence and support the IT strategic direction.
  • Participates in monitoring the effectiveness of course materials, makes recommendations, and modifies/revised course material as instructed.
  • Develops new course materials.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge on the application, installation and operation of all assigned products, tools and services and makes recommendations in order to contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the relevant processes and systems in the area of expertise.
  • Demonstrate a lean thinking, innovative attitude that strives for customer centricity
  • Support and work as a team member of projects in claims management.
  • Be flexible to participate in ad hoc projects

Job Qualifications

Your Skills and Experience

 

Required:
• 5 years plus GI claims experience
• Injury handling experience would be a distinct advantage
• Holds minimum professional qualifications of CIP with interest to gain further qualifications 
• Excellent technical insurance knowledge
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong decision making and sound numeric skills
• High level of interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills
• Desire to learn and be flexible to business change
• Ability to recognize, understand and adhere to appropriate legislative regulations

Additional Information

 

Primary work location is Wexford based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
