Zurich Ireland GI is looking for a Risk Manager to play a key role in supporting our first line business areas to ensure a consistent and efficient adherence to the risk management framework across our business.

The successful applicant will act as a member of the Zurich Ireland GI Risk team, with responsibility for the delivery and execution of the Risk strategy.

 

Your Role

 

As a Risk Manager your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

 

Embed the ZIP Risk Management Framework

  • Facilitate and monitor implementation of the ZIP Risk Management Framework (inc. Group Risk Management Framework)
  • Facilitate effective monitoring of business area, business unit or function risk exposures against risk tolerance.
  • Conduct risk assessments sessions (insurance and/or operational risk) with business area or function to contribute to a complete view of the relevant key risks.
  • Apply a forward-looking approach to risk types within remit.
  • Develop and enhance risk policies, frameworks, tools, and best practices within area of remit.

 

Internal Control Integrated Framework

  • Lead Internal Control Integrated Framework [ICIF] implementation within Ireland GI
  • Provide support to the design and implementation of the control framework across all in-scope functions within Ireland GI
  • Act as a conduit between Group Risk Management, ZIP HO and Ireland GI

 

Develop Risk Insights

  • Perform analytical activities and compile high-quality risk reports for decision taking by management.
  • Conduct analysis for early identification of business area, business unit or function, challenges risks and issues. Ensure remediation actions are defined and monitored.
  • Act as business partner to management of assigned area within business unit, business area or function providing challenge and risk insights in support of achieving business objectives.

 

Collaboration

  • Partner with and advise business partners and other key stakeholders on risk and controls of risk types within remit
  • Advise and support business partners as part of ongoing, high impact transformation activities on risk types within remit
  • Advise management on risk-related standards/regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure strong position of risk management with management in the business unit, business area or function.
  • Provide consistent, reliable, and timely risk information to relevant decision-making bodies.

Your Skills and Experience

 

As a Risk Manager your skills and qualifications will include: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 5 or more years of experience in related field
  • Relevant risk management experience on strategic, tactical, and operational levels
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of operations within large organizations
  • Experience with Project Management 
  • Experience of influencing and directing multi-functional teams in a global environment
     

Additional Information

 

Primary work location is Wexford or Dublin based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
