SME Hybrid Role

 

Reporting to the Mid-Market Team Coach as an Underwriting/Distribution Liaison you will be required to work closely with Sales and Distribution, Broker Partners and other functions to ensure all areas of the business are managed according to the Zurich Way of Underwriting and within delegated authority levels. 

 

This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Your Role

 

Your responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:
•    Subject Matter Expert on the SME platform to include risk appetite, underwriting criteria and platform functionality
•    Underwrite and analyse New Business submissions flowing through the SME Platform utilizing the Zurich Way of Underwriting framework within delegated authority levels
•    Negotiate terms and conditions in line with our agreed strategy and within our guidelines
•    Engage with our Market Facing Underwriters, Sales and Distribution and Broker partners to generate and drive new business opportunities through the SME platform 
•    Responsibility for providing continuous system support and training for our Broker partners, identifying training gaps and implementing action plans
•    Act that the main point of contact in collating feedback relating to the SME platform from brokers, Sales & Distribution and internal MFU teams to ensure pain-points are understood and addressed.
•    Act as a key referral point for SME Platform referrals for our Broker partners, Sales and Distribution and Market Facing Underwriters 
•    Provide the market facing underwriting team with support and co-operation to ensure professional and efficient service to our broker business partners
•    Responsible for the maintenance of all relevant Broker Records in accordance with regulatory /statutory and internal requirements.
•    Ensure any issues arising are dealt with in accordance with Zurich standards and that where appropriate issues are escalated in a timely fashion
•    Maintain underwriting records in accordance with regulatory/statutory and internal requirements
•    Proactively contribute ideas on the development of improved processes to enhance our customer experience based on customer and distribution insights
•    Be flexible to participate in ad hoc projects

 

Internal Relationships

•    Strong engagement and interaction with sales and distribution, product underwriting, risk engineering, claims, and other functional areas. 

 

External Relationships

•    Build and sustain key relationships with our Broker partners 

Skills & Experience

 

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Education: 

Required:
•    10 years plus industry knowledge
•    Previous Brokerage experience an advantage
•    Holds or is working towards relevant professional qualifications i.e. CIP, MDI, ACII 
•    Excellent technical insurance knowledge, including specific knowledge in the SME space ent
•    Excellent numerical and analytical skills 
•    Excellent knowledge of Zurich products/policy wordings
•    Full Clean Driving Licence

Additional Information

 

Primary work location is Wexford, Ireland. Position is Wexford-based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
