Senior Robotics Developer

 

Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch are looking for a Senior Robotics Developer for our Underwriting Change and Automation Team. Robotic Process Automaton (RPA) is one of the fastest growing sectors in the I.T industry, as a Senior Automation Developer reporting to the Underwriting Change & Automation Manager you will plan, design, build, test and implement new automation processes. The RPA automation lead will enhance business productivity and maximise efficiency in line with Zurich’s refreshed Strategy to become Simpler and Smarter.

 

This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Your Role

 

Automation Developer Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, Identify and automate manual processes using robotic process automation technology 
  • Be flexible/agile in your approach to change to support business needs (e.g. – prioritising and supporting responses to operational events)  
  • Collaborate with IT and the Zurich Group Community on software upgrades and reviewing new automation tools
  • Maintain, enhance and scale existing robotic processes across Underwriting to ensure benefits of robotic assets are maximised
  • Monitor and engage with business change on planned and in-flights projects to assess any impact to existing RPA processes and to ensure alignment on new RPA priorities
  • Use “best practice” techniques to develop processes in order minimise robotic downtime 
  • Document new builds and conduct regular reviews of existing documentation to ensure processes and manuals are up to date
  • Review and maintain the automation process control room and arrange the most efficient scheduling of processes (with support from junior developers on the team)
  • Review and estimate new change priorities, conduct opportunity scans and agree  prioritisation with process owners
  • Produce insightful management information including dashboards and up to date stats on automated tasks
  • Create and develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed and business needs are met
  • Deputise for the UW Change and Automation Manager when necessary

 

Your Skills and Experience

 

Technical Skills, Competencies and Behaviours:

 

  • Previous experience working with Blue Prism (or another automation software)
  • Must have project management and problem-solving skills 
  • String stakeholder management skills 
  • Possess an excellent attention to detail
  • Being able to work well within a Team
  • Be familiar with M.S Office suite and produce reports for management 
  • An understanding of the “Lean ways of working” and the reduction of non-value add work
  • Have an interest in Latest Technology Trends 

 

Education Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • IT related qualifications is desirable
  • Insurance industry experience desirable

 

Additional Information

 

Primary work location is Wexford, Ireland. Position is Wexford based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
