As Head Accounting Advisory, you are responsible for all accounting policy related activities in Group Investment Management with focus on conceptual and procedural aspects. You establish a higher “FAR Management Competence” within Group IM, providing accounting advisory impacting our investment results, particularly related to IFRS17 and IFRS9 and their interrelations. You interface directly between Group Finance key stakeholders and our IM leadership team. You lead and participate in accounting Finance strategic initiatives or ad-hoc inquiries towards a positive desired outcome/impact to Group IM and the Zurich Group. 

 

You will also work with GIM PPM and GIM CFO/COO to help position GIM performance and reporting to Group Finance and Group management.  


What you will do

 

  • Practical Accounting Policy interpretation for Group IM strategic accounting regimes such as IFRS17, IFRS9 and upcoming ESG regulations.

  • Guide on Accounting / Financial KPI setting to support our result steering with advanced insights and analytics linking asset and liabilities.

  • Provide Accounting advisory and education to Group Investment Management leadership team and global teams.

  • Partnering with Group Finance Accounting Reporting and Accounting Policy Group on strategic themes, influence policy setting under implementation, cost, benefit considerations.

  • Interacting with Reporting Solutions, Analytics and Business Controlling experts on the subject of central investment Accounting and Reporting needs.

  • Develops and build good relationships with key stakeholder such as Group IM IMET, Group Finance Leadership team.

  • Answer to inquiries, challenges, issues arisen from Group, Auditors, Regulators with regards to consolidated Balance Sheet views requiring an aligned IM position and one voice.

  • Support key Group IM and Group Finance programs. 

  • Identify (operational) challenges and blind spots that bear a risk or may create inefficiencies, by engaging with colleagues / teams along IM’s value chain (covering data, systems, processes, risks, controls (governance), and content related aspects (accounting, reporting, valuation, strategic aspects).

 

What you bring

 

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Financial Markets & Risks, Business Administration, Finance, Economics.

  • ACCA or CPA certified with track record in Audit firm.

  • 7-10 years of experience in Auditing investments in a senior role overlooking

  • Deep understanding of Financial Statements analysis, planning, accounting principles and financial reporting standards, particularly financial instruments IFRS9, Insurance contracts IFRS17.

  • Good understanding of financial markets, products, risks, regulations. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to convey complex financial information to a variety of audiences.

  • High quality and timely delivery through coordination and answering of central business problems in accounting reporting.

  • Passionate self-working, very result oriented and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking/ transformation.

  • Strategic mindset and be able to develop and convey complex data analytics and financial information.

  • Oversee Finance and Accounting industry trends to help anticipate and adapt challenges and opportunities quickly.

  • Fluent English in written and oral.
