Events Director 80-100%

133628

Do you see events as powerful platforms to bring together people, shape conversations and bring strategy to life? Do you want to define the future of events for a leading global brand?

At Zurich, we connect leaders, colleagues, customers, partners and external stakeholders through experiences and content that inform, inspire and influence. From leadership meetings and customer conferences to summits, thought-leadership platforms, public policy forums, broadcasts and hybrid experiences, our events help make Zurich’s priorities visible, memorable and meaningful.

We are looking for an Events Director who can bring a clear vision, strategic perspective and fresh thinking to the role. This is an opportunity to develop Zurich’s Group Events Strategy and lead its delivery - shaping an event portfolio and content approach that strengthens our brand, supports business priorities and creates standout experiences for our audiences.

The successful candidate will set the direction for Group Events, build the roadmap and inspire a talented team and trusted partner network to deliver events that are distinctive, impactful and unmistakably Zurich.

What you will do

  • Develop, own and deliver Zurich’s Group Events Strategy, creating a clear multi-year vision for how events support Zurich’s business and content plan, brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Bring your own perspective and fresh ideas to the role, identifying where Zurich’s events can become more distinctive, more connected, innovative and influential across internal and external audiences.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping shape how events and experiences can support leadership communication, client and employee engagement, thought leadership and reputation.
  • Shape high-profile live, hybrid and digital events, ensuring each event has a clear purpose, strong narrative, thoughtful audience journey and measurable contribution to Zurich’s objectives.
  • Elevate audience experience, creative production, content flow and digital storytelling, bringing fresh ideas to how Zurich designs, produces and measures events.
  • Create a roadmap for the evolution of Zurich’s event portfolio, including formats, event technology, data, sustainable event practices, supplier partnerships and measurement, and oversee day-to-day delivery.
  • Build strong partnerships with agencies, production experts, venues, technology partners and suppliers, ensuring Zurich benefits from best practice, innovation and high-quality delivery.
  • Use insight, feedback and post-event learnings to continuously improve Zurich’s event portfolio and demonstrate the strategic value of the function.

What you bring

  • Significant experience leading high-profile, high-impact corporate events in a complex, international environment, across live, hybrid and digital formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement an event strategy that translates business and communication priorities into purposeful event programs and memorable audience experiences.
  • A visionary, future-facing mindset, with the courage to challenge conventional approaches, the creativity to imagine better experiences and the resilience and discipline to make them happen.
  • Credibility with senior executives and diverse stakeholders, with the ability to advise, influence and present recommendations clearly and confidently.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing experienced event professionals, creating an environment where people feel trusted, stretched and inspired to do their best work.
  • Deep understanding of audience experience, event production and related risk management, content design, supplier ecosystems, event technology, program management and sustainable event practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong governance instincts, with the ability to balance ambition, quality, risk, budget, stakeholder expectations and business value.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills would be an advantage.
  • Curiosity about new technologies, data, AI-enabled ways of working and the future of audience engagement.
