Head of Group Accumulation Management IT 80-100%

Zurich’s Group Accumulation Management (GAM) function delivers actionable insights to the business and thought leadership regarding natural and man-made catastrophes. Using both internal and externally sourced sophisticated Cat Modelling capabilities, accumulation risk is assessed globally. GAM’s comprehensive approach to accumulation risk is an essential component of Zurich’s Risk Management and Underwriting function that supports the optimization of our portfolios, delivers sustainable and profitable growth and is striving to understand current and emerging risks including cyber and climate change. The function relies on business critical and complex IT systems. We are hiring for the newly created role of Head of GAM IT to lead a team of professionals that is dedicated to support this function from an IT perspective. This role, reporting to the Head of Commercial Insurance & Risk IT Solutions, offers a great leadership opportunity to build a collaborative team committed to agile product development and delivering competitive edge to the business.

What you will do
 

• As the Head of GAM IT you have overall accountability and ownership for defining, communicating and executing the end-to-end strategy for the applications developed and used by GAM ensuring alignment with the global IT strategy.
• You communicate the vision to the team in a compelling and engaging manner. Together with the Product Owners in GAM you break the vision down into initiatives, epics and user stories to allow successful implementation. You coordinate across Product Owners to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• You bring and develop a good understanding on how the GAM processes and applications deliver value through competitive risk insights to the organization including mainly Underwriting, Risk Management, Group Reinsurance and Zurich Resilience Services.
• As a senior member of the Business Technology Solutions team, you collaborate closely with the Head of GAM, the Product Owners in GAM and senior managers in Group Functions to ensure the applications develop and perform in line with the expectations of the users.
• You own the IT execution including decision-making and implementation of the architecture, the development and deployment of productive code, the orchestration of development across products and ongoing updates to technology and software.
• You are accountable to adhere to IT standards, defined Service Level Agreements, IT budgets and the Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation.
• You embrace technology as an opportunity and differentiator and develop solutions in an agile way to bring competitive advantage to the business.

What you bring

• A master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong IT background and a good understanding of risk modelling technologies
• You bring and develop a good understanding of accumulation management processes and applications related to cat modelling
• Experience and proven track record in agile delivery models and in managing and delivering change projects in an agile way
• A passion for collaboration and co-creation, enabling and empowering the team
• Strong leadership skills and experience
• Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge business requirements with technical solutions.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders including strong facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills
• Fluent in English
