When joining our Digital & New Technology team at Commercial Insurance, International Programs IT, you will have the opportunity to follow your passion in exploring and creating market facing digital enablers working in close collaboration with our global, multinational customers, insurance brokers and network partners. Working in partnerships and co-design is native to our way of working and collaborating across the Zurich Group and the wider commercial insurance ecosystem.

 

As a Platform Owner Digital Solutions, you will be part of an international team, supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives including opportunity assessments, incubation and project delivery. You will take ownership of the evolution of our digital B2B and Intelligent Automation platforms and will be exposed to shaping value add and impactful digital solutions by leveraging relevant emerging technologies including RPA, AI, BI, web-portals and state of the art development technology stacks.

 

What you will do

 

As a Platform Owner Digital Solutions your main accountabilities will involve:

 

  • Support to shape and drive the digital agenda and implementation roadmap for our B2B and Intelligent

  • Automation strategic focus areas

  • Own communication of the platform strategy, direction and change with IT & business leadership, business units and sourcing partners

  • Partner with in-country business communities, sharing the ‚art of the possible’, identifying and prioritizing technology solution opportunities to achieve their goals

  • Support the development of new customer journeys from inception to implementation working closely with (market facing) business functions and agile delivery teams

  • Support sponsors with the business case development, engage with relevant stakeholders in the solution proposal syndication and decision making process

  • Manage selected projects from inception through to technical delivery and business implementation, balancing competing constraints (scope, time and budget) and assuring quality delivery

  • Adapt to and apply different delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Lean; tailor the methodologies to best suit the solution delivery context

  • Ensure integration and alignment of the projects portfolio with the platform strategy and evolution roadmap

  • Manage internal and external suppliers as required in the delivery of application development and ongoing maintenance

  • Support the development of technology delivery capabilities including attracting new talent and developing existing staff

  • Manage customer satisfaction, platform and service improvement programs, as well as escalation and complaint management

  • Manage the service delivery of respective externally facing applications according to Service Level Agreements

  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships across the organization in order to achieve engagement to change, and provide technical leadership in the design and development of new digital solutions

  • Create data-driven platform insights to derive new business requirements, • opportunities and KPIs

 

What you will bring

 

As a Platform Owner Digital Solutions your skills and experience will ideally include:

 

  • A master’s degree or comparable qualification in Information Technology or similar

  • 8-10 years working experience in the Financial Services industry, including product / platform ownership, project management and technical delivery experience with at least 5 years of agile experience

  • Knowledge and experience in (commercial) insurance, ideally in market facing processes and solutions like externally facing web portals and API channels is of advantage

  • Hands-on experience in development and solution architecture for both web solutions as well as interface/API solutions based on state-of-the-art technologies

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Enthusiastic collaborator and team player with a positive attitude

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional project and development teams across regions

  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to think pragmatically and drive execution of concepts. Analyse, prioritize, resolve issues and take decisions during challenging times

  • Ability to apply creativity and judgment in identifying and analyzing complex problems and providing recommendations to the leadership team

  • Profound international project experience, having a clear solution and delivery mindset being experienced working in an agile delivery environment, feeling comfortable in complex multinational project setups

  • Working experience in multi-vendor, virtual and multi-cultural teams

  • Advanced English language skills, orally and in writing, capable of leading negotiations at all management levels; other language skills are of advantage
