Senior Actuarial Analyst 80-100%, temporary until end of September 2023

This is an IFRS 17 project-based role within Group Reinsurance Reserving. You will be leading the project on the actuarial side for Group Reinsurance Reserving team in Zurich and providing support to Bermuda. The future accounting rules require appropriate building and testing of reserving systems and processes in Group Reinsurance, leveraging the existing ones. In the implementation phase you will work closely with the Group Re and Group IFRS 17 project teams, and various other functions within Group Reinsurance.

 

The role requires appropriate understanding of the actuarial IFRS 17 methodology.

 

What you will do

 

  • Refining and finalizing the solution design for reinsurance

  • Evaluating options, testing calculations, building prototypes, and assisting implementation of the selected approach for IFRS 17

  • Supporting reserving processes and actuarial tools for IFRS 17 compliant reserving

  • Collaborating closely with the IFRS 17 project teams and other Group Re areas

  • Embedding IFRS 17 into business as usual

  • Performing financial impact assessments

  • Filling resource gaps in on-going quarterly reserving during IFRS 17 implementation

 

What you bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics/Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics or similar

  • 5 or more years of experience in financial industry, preferable reserving and/or reinsurance

  • Fully qualified actuary (per local society) or actively pursuing qualification

  • Good programming skills. Experience with SQL, VBA or RESQ will be an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and conscious of deadlines

  • Good project management skills, result-oriented work in a project environment

  • Showing enthusiasm and having positive attitude

  • Very good English skills, German will be an advantage
