We are on the lookout for a passionate and innovative Benelux Excellence Coordinator to join our Excellence Team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure our business requirements are seamlessly integrated end-to-end in both Underwriting and Underwriting Services.

As a bridge between several teams and departments, you will work closely with colleagues in the Benelux region and across Zurich Insurance Group. Whether you prefer The Hague or Zaventem, this hybrid position offers you the choice of either location.

This role involves establishing and updating governance frameworks, translating complex business processes, conducting assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinating new system integrations, performing due diligence in underwriting governance, and identifying and mitigating risks.

Your Role:

 

  • Establishing and/or updating The Zurich Way governance framework by creating and reviewing guidelines, process descriptions, and supporting documents, as well as ensuring timely revisions.
  • Understanding the key elements in complex business processes and translating them into practical actions. Comprehending the underlying objectives of insurance regulatory requirements and being able to explain and convert them into pragmatic processes suitable for the business environment.
  • Conducting assurance activities such as reviewing the effectiveness of certain processes, reporting, and performing monitoring tasks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, guidelines, and process descriptions. Identifying misinterpretations and breaches and mitigating associated risks.
  • Identifying areas where improvements are useful and/or needed.
  • Coordinating the integration and testing of new systems or enhancements in processes.
  • Performing due diligence on Managing General Agent (MGA) underwriting governance, including the setup of new MGAs and subsequent risk-based assessments.
  • Identifying risks in both departments that provide input for various risk and control activities.
  • Collecting evidence and/or data for controls, audits, data calls, and other inquiries.

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance / Economics (or related field) with extensive experience in Insurance (preferably Commercial / non-life), with a good understanding of International Programs.
  • Fluency in English; with proficiency in Dutch or French as an additional benefit.
  • Ability to understand key aspects of complex business processes and translate them into practical actions.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
